Ben -This is our audio cut
sequence idea for a video game, our presentation explains the various ideas for
sound and visuals we want to include in our cut sequence. We will explain the
effects we want to use and why we think they are good.
1.
Cameron -The game is an open-world
role playing game, where the player can move freely around the futuristic city
of London completing main and side missions to protect the King from alien
attacks.
2.
Cameron - The cut sequence was
inspired by a cancelled game called Prey 2 which is set in the future;
Assassin’s Creed and Infamous was used as inspiration for the climbing aspect
and free-roam. Hitman was used as inspiration for hunting down targets. We
think this adds many opportunities for interesting sound effects.
3.
Rowan - The character is similar to
Cole the main character from Infamous. They have a variety of weapons and
abilities which would have futuristic sound effects like lasers and the whoosh
effect from a hover car. The main character’s accent will be an informal
Cockney accent since he is from London but grew up fighting and running, he was
never taught to be formal.
4.
Rowan - The cut sequence will take
place mid-way through the game while the player is doing a mission, it will show
the player using their bionic eye to stalk an alien target until they are
noticed, then the chase begins and the main character tries to shoot the target
and sprints after them through the streets . The characters climb and jump over
vehicles and buildings. The chase results in vehicles exploding and police
sirens can be heard shortly after.
5.
Ben - The sound effects that we will
create or edit would be sound effects like footsteps, rain and puddles,
futuristic weaponry, character voices, climbing, and others relating to the
situation the takes place in. The sound effects would be as realistic as you
could get for laser weapons and hover cars but the aim is to create believable
sound effects to add to the depth of the cut sequence. Sounds that we could create/edit
could be the various alien languages; the futuristic abilities (bionic
eyes/cyborg arm), the different surfaces for climbing and the footsteps,
certain buildings/flooring would sound different (hollow/dense).
6.
Ben - We will create the sound
effects for our computer game cut sequence by using Reaper. We have the option
to create some sound effects on our own using the Virtual instruments or we
could take pre-existing effects from the internet or take our own and edit them
in Reaper to our liking. We could create the ambient effects ourselves but
going outside and creating the sounds like footsteps and wind or even the
sirens of police/ambulance, we could edit these sound effects using the Virtual
Effects in Reaper. We could have a mix of the two for quick and high quality
work.
